About Us

Home Fridays, based in Bend, Oregon, was founded in 2005 by Shannon and David Bassett. They originally bought their current residence in Bend as a vacation home, which provided its share of challenges to manage from afar. After several years of big-city life with Bend 2nd-home management challenges sprinkled in, they decided to move to Bend where they started Home Fridays to erase the hassle factor for other absentee homeowners.

Shannon Bassett - Caretaking Commander

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and have worked in the real estate business as long as I can remember. Home Fridays is a natural extension of my love of working with people and helping others enjoy their vacations! My meticulous nature (and occasional bull-dog tendencies) have been used to their fullest as I cajole and hammer the vendors into helping me best serve my home owners. It has been said that I have ‘a jar of honey and a velvet hammer’ in my toolkit – whatever it takes to get the job done. I have been buying, renovating and managing rental and commercial properties for the last 25 years. In my professional life I have worked with major corporations across the country and internationally on maintaining their properties. Professionally I managed large projects and teams of people – this translates perfectly to taking care of homes. Each family is a ‘project’ and the maintenance of their home is the focus of my job. I view a home as an important asset that needs care to maintain value. Through my contacts and relationships with local vendors and resources I can get the job done in a timely manner and meet the high standards maintained by Home Fridays. When not busy maintaining homes I can be found at Mt. Bachelor enjoying the snow or the area mountain bike trails with my husband. I also serve as a board member for two commercial real estate companies and am on the board of Opportunity Knocks a local non-profit organization.

Anne Blanton – Administrative Assistant

I grew up in the Bay Area in northern California and I have traveled around the world for both business and pleasure. I fell in love with Bend 7 years ago on a visit and decided to make this my home. My 30 year career as an executive in Human Resources was great preparation for working with Home Fridays. I love working with all the home owners and holding down the ‘fort’ as I am usually found in the office – scheduling away and handling all the paper work. When I am not at Home Fridays I am either on Mt. Bachelor skiing or out on a photo shoot excursion surrounding myself with all the beauty that Central Oregon has to offer!

Kellen Bateham – Field Services Coordinator

I was born in Bend and raised in Washington. I happily returned to Bend 10 years ago and reside with my wife and 3 year old son. Previously I was in the construction business as project manager and met Shannon when I remodeled her house and office. While I have built many houses here in Central Oregon my true passion is blacksmithing—which is a continuing hobby. As a builder, I see our clients home from a different perspective than the average home owner. I also fill the role of handyman for Home Fridays getting all those little things taken care of in a cost effective manner. In my spare time (that is a joke there is no spare time with a 3 year old!) I am going to college and studying to work in the education field. If you don’t run into me at your home, you might find me out playing with the dog and my son.

David Bassett

I grew up in Denver and spent much of my professional life in Seattle (with a large retail coffee company). I named Home Fridays several years ago after the common phrase I would often say to my wife, “I will be home Friday.” As we looked around at how to make our mark in Bend, I knew that easing the burdens of a second home owners the best method. Plus, as a bonus I was able to escape the rain in Seattle and enjoy the Central Oregon sunshine! My love of real estate investing has evolved over the last 22 years as I have purchased, personally renovated and managed several rental properties of my own. I am also the company ‘geek squad’ and keep our networks and accounting system up to snuff. I want to see all our customers enjoy the maximum amount of free time while here Central Oregon; after all it is a vacation home. When not busy working with our customers I can be found running or biking the local trails, enjoying the snow, climbing local peaks or paddling the lakes.

Tracy Kenna

I grew up in Long Island then moved to New York and slowly worked my way West through Breckenridge, Colorado and finally ending up in Bend. My hobby of flipping houses has taught me tons about home building and maintenance. I bring all that knowledge and more to Home Fridays. I hold an A.S. degree in Nursing and am a certified Pharmacy Technician which I completed after attended Humboldt State University and majoring in Forestry. In my spare time I love to read, garden, entertain and cook. My last dinner party was a 4 course meal for 26 people!! Wintertime you will me on Mt. Bachelor working as a ski instructor or skiing with my husband and two boys.
